It's no secret to anyone in the world that the Russian ballet school is the best! In St. Petersburg and other cities of Russia there are many places associated with ballet and with great choreographers. But our story today is about ballerinas who lived and worked in Moscow.
So, we offer all ballet lovers, students of choreographic schools to make an exciting journey with us through some of the "ballet" places in Moscow.
Strangely enough, we will start our tour with a visit to the necropolis of the Novodevichy Convent and bow to the great ballerinas of the past: Galina Ulanova, Ekaterina Maksimova, Marina Semyonova.
Then we head to the center of Moscow.
Here we will see:
- in which house on Lubyanka did little Maya Plisetskaya live with her famous dentist grandfather at the beginning of the 20th century
- a house on Tverskaya-Yamskaya Street, where the prima of the Bolshoi Theater Olga Lepeshinskaya lived
- the house where Maya Plisetskaya lived in a three-room apartment on Tverskaya Street until her death. Here, together with her husband, composer Rodion Shchedrin, Maya Mikhailovna created the ballets Anna Karenina. "Seagull", the image of Carmen was created here.
- The Bolshoi Theater is always the Bolshoi. Which of the beginners and already famous ballerinas does not dream of dancing here!
And we end our tour in Maya Plisetskaya Square on Bolshaya Dmitrovka. Here is a monument to the great ballerina.
