From January 1, 2025, the maximum period of temporary stay of a foreign citizen in the territory of the Russian Federation without a visa is 90 days in total during the year.
To obtain an entry visa to Russia, you can apply for a single electronic visa or a classic one.
To apply for a single electronic visa, you need to:
Submit an application from your personal account on the specialized website of the Russian Foreign Ministry or in the mobile application of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

Attach a digital photograph of the applicant’s face and a scan of the page with the data of the machine-readable passport of the foreign citizen to the application.
At least 6 months must remain before the expiration of the passport from the date of application.
Pay the consular fee. For children under 6 years of age, the visa is free.
Wait for notification of the issuance of an entry permit, which will be sent to the email address or to the tourist’s page on the website of the consular department of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
To obtain a classic visa, a foreign citizen who has grounds for obtaining a visa submits the following documents to the diplomatic mission or consular office of the Russian Federation:
-A valid identity document recognized as such by the Russian Federation;
– A completed visa application form;
– A 3×4 cm photograph;
– A medical insurance policy valid in the Russian Federation;
If a foreign citizen applies for a visa for a period of more than three months, he/she must additionally submit a certificate of absence of HIV infection.
